Illustrated by the celebrated Arthur Rackham with a monochrome frontispiece, illuminated letters and seven monochrome plates. Collated complete.
This work features a collection of stories of courageous and heroic characters, written by a host of authors such as G. A. Henty, best known for his adventure fiction works such as The Dragon & the Raven and Guy Boothby, who is best known for his Dr Nikola series.
CONDITION
In the publishers original cloth. Externally smart with fading to the spine, slight rubbing to the illustration to the front board, damp staining and slight cockling to the rear, minimal rubbing to the joints and bumping to the extremities resulting in wear and a very small closed tear to the tail of the spine. Endpapers age toned with remnants of a prize label dated 1919 to the front free endpaper. Front hinge tender and rear starting, both after blanks. Internally generally firmly bound with occasional signs of strain and frontispiece weak. Pages lightly age toned with the odd spot and handling mark.
